Prall

From MusiCAD

A pralltriller or praller - denoted by prall - is a commonly used character to indicate that the note needs ornamentation. Depending on the composition, the performance may be different.

MusiCAD plays a praller as two extra notes preceding the note above which the mark is placed. The first note then has the same pitch as the actual note, the second is one or two semitones higher.

You determine the duration (short or long) and pitch (chromatic or diatonic) and whether the duration of the prall is taken from the note itself or from the preceding note, for a composition using the playback dialog.
