Baglamas

baglamas

A baglamas is a very small Greek longneck lute with three double strings and tuned D4-A5-D5.

Baglamas chords can be written manually at chord symbols as chord diagrams at the bar, but that is quite a bit of work. If there are already chord symbols with the notes, you can quickly add fingerings to your chord symbols by setting [Part|Part properties|Chord diagrams] "baglamas". For each notated chord symbol, the corresponding fingering is found and displayed. In this way, chord diagrams are displayed correctly even after transpose.

Because a baglamas has three strings it is impossible to play dominant seventh or diminished seventh chords; therefore, in all chords of dominant seventh or diminished seventh chords, one note is always omitted.

A trichordo-bouzouki (three-stringed bouzouki) is tuned the same, but one octave lower, so the same chord diagrams may be used. The same chords apply to the tzouras as well.

If the baglamas are subsequently replaced by, for example, a bouzouki, just enter the instrument code "bouzouki" and that's it!
